Valentines Day

With only boys at my home Valentines Day is a hard fought battle to remind them there is a female in the mix. I am not overdone on candy or sweets and in 2025 am trying to pair down the possessions but still indulge the fun the sweet and the light hearted which could be nicknames for my kids.

I was able to find on Walmart these adorable STAR WARS bouquets the perfect blend of soft and sweet. I live in a out of the way area so shipping is must for me.

The best presents are the ones that reveal the giver has been paying attention and really sees us and what we love. My boy would love the milk chocolate peanut butter cups from Trader Joe's but like I said, rural. We get those every few months smuggled down from their loving aunties and we make them last. In a pinch those we can get these Tony's Chocolonely tiny bites. Love their chocolate and even better love their message. The tiny bites curb the sweet tooth crave and easy grab and travel for the golf bag and lunch bag.

Another regular grab for my boys is golf balls. They can never have enough and it is a great investment for me. I love finding things they love that they actually use. Great price point for many different gift levels, split a pack or grab one for everyone. With my teenagers and split the pack and pick some up and Christmas, Valentines, and Easter, and we regularly pick them up out of the hayfield in my backyard :)

Unexpectedly theses glow in the dark golf balls were a big hit at Halloween. With the slow burn of most boys, I had given them this gift and it was tucked away until I said, "hey what about...." and they brought out the glow in the dark golf balls for a driving competition near Halloween night.

They stay lit up for about 30 seconds after they are hit. Each boy hit in succession and then the race began to come back first with their retrieved golf ball. Such a good time, as a mom thats the moments that keep on giving.

I also love some practical gift for my boys, like lotions and potions that they will actually use. One in particular loves the city and beach and since we live no where near those he gets his fix from these scents. Ocean is a classic but we have loved Waikiki when we can grab it.

Whenever possible, I like to take my boys to the scent store in person. Their aunt introduced them to this experience at a young age, and it's enjoyable to watch them explore a store that's mostly frequented by women, observing their questions and remarks. When visiting the store isn't feasible, I always stock these brands. I've even gotten my dad to request them for his Christmas stocking as a resupply for the year.

The product, the value, the packaging, it is as the girls I teach would say, a slay. They have such an intelligent humor about the way they style and brand it and it is just a delight to give them my money and support their vision. This will always be a standard in our house. They have smaller colognes that are easy to travel with, a good intro to the scent, and not too much of a commitment for my teenagers to decide that they in fact like all the scents.
